American Express Black Card Requirements

Q: What are the American Express Black card requirements?

A: The American Centurion black card qualifications (officially called the Centurion card) have changed slightly since it first came out in 1999, but they’ve always been strict nonetheless. Let’s take a look at what’s currently required in order to get this credit card:

The Annual Fee
When the card first came out, the annual fee was “only” $1,000. Less than ten years later, AmEx jacked up the annual fee all the way up to $2,500. New York investigates fraudulent credit card charges

An investigation is underway in New York that could give consumers more confidence in the way their credit card data is handled when they make online purchases.

The state’s attorney general, Andrew Cuomo, has announced an investigation into 22 major online companies that he accuses of helping to deceive customers into fee-based membership programs that place monthly fees on their credit cards for little in return. In many cases, these online vendors actually shared their customers’ credit card data with the marketing companies in question.

Previous federal data has found that millions of consumers have been affected by these monthly charges, which often show up mysteriously on their credit card statements under the guise of “rewards programs,” discounts and other such things. This is one more reason why consumers should always take great care to read the fine print when making online purchases, since in many cases they have to specifically opt out of such offers in order to avoid the monthly charges. Redeeming Citi rewards points even more rewarding for Haiti

Cashing in rewards points has never been more rewarding for me. Today, I redeemed 5,000 rewards points in exchange for a $50 donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti relief.

When I read in the New York Times blog that credit card companies were allowing users to redeem rewards points and donate to the Haiti relief efforts, I knew I wanted to contribute in some way.

Let me say that I have already donated to the Red Cross Haiti fund, directly on the charity’s Web site. And yesterday I purchased the Hope for Haiti Now album on iTunes. I

How to get an American Express Red Card

Q: How can you apply for an American Express Red Card?

A: This is a question I get asked regularly, so at this point I figure it would be easiest to write a blog post about the Red Card

What is it?
This credit card has been around since 2006. It’s a rewards card, but different in that the rewards your earn go to charity. On annual spending of above £5,000, the charitable donation is 1.25% of your purchases. For less than that amount, it’s 1.00%. These proceeds go to The Global Fund – an organization founded in 2002 to fight the pandemics AIDS/HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.

Who has one?
A number of A-list talent have supported the American Express Red credit card. Exam
